Sleeve Gastrectomy encourages weight loss by restricting the stomach size so it holds only a limited amount of food. This helps patients to eat less without hampering the normal digestive process.
This minimally invasive surgery works by bypassing part of the intestine to allow malabsorption to occur.
Patients with a laparoscopic gastric band may need the band removed at some point, due to complications, lack of further weight loss, or patients choice.
